Collection of Lasallian prayers for Founder's Week
During these uncertain times, many of us are feeling disconnected from our school community, which is grounded in Lasallian education. When we’re at school, being Lasallian is always present to us with the prayer we say before every class. But now that we are apart, it is harder to feel connected to our Lasallian roots. Here is a collection of Lasallian prayers to remind us of the values of a Lasallian education. Try reciting one each day this week to honor our founder, St. John Baptist de La Salle.
Monday:
One La Salle Prayer
Let us remember that we are in the holy presence of God.
Let me be the change I want to see
To do with strength and wisdom
All that needs to be done..
And become the hope that I can be.
Set me free from my fears and hesitations
Grant me courage and humility
Fill me with spirit to face the challenge
And start the change I long to see.
Today I start the change I want to see.
Even if I’m not the light
I can be the spark
In faith, service, and communion.
Let us start the change we want to see.
The change that begins in me.

Tuesday:
Act of Faith
Let us remember that we are in the holy presence of God.
Let us make an Act of Faith on the Immortality of the Soul.
O my God, I firmly believe that You have given me an immortal soul, capable of knowing, loving and serving You in this world, and of being happy with You forever in heaven; and in this belief I adore and love You with all my heart.

Wednesday:
Meditation for the Time of Retreat 4
Let us remember that we are in the holy presence of God.
Lord,
I pray that your Spirit
may come alive in me
since you have chosen me
to do your work.
May I be completely transformed
by your Spirit dwelling within.

Thursday:
Concern for the Poor and Social Justice Closing
Let us remember that we are in the holy presence of God.
Eternal Father, whose compassion and justice are without end,
give us compassion for all who are in poverty and need.
Your wish is for all of your children to live with dignity,
with adequate food, shelter, health care and education.
Inspire us as we take up your work as a Lasallian community of faith and guide us as we seek to bring justice and sow peace in our world.

Friday:
Remembering Saintly Brother Miguel
Let us remember that we are in the holy presence of God.
We are all created for God’s glory.
We are all created to do God’s will.
I am created to do something
or to be something
for which no one else is created;
I have a place in God’s counsels, in God’s world,
which no one else has:
whether I be rich or poor,
despised or esteemed by others,
God knows me and calls me by name.
God has created me to do Him some definite service;
He has committed some work to me
which He has not committed to another.

Saturday:
Celebrating God’s Presence
Let us remember that we are in the holy presence of God.
How happy I am, O my God,
to find You always present
wherever I may go or wherever I may be.
Awaken me to Your presence;
waken me to Your indwelling;
waken me to inward sight of You,
and speech with You,
and strength from You.
May my spirit leap up to You
all day and in all ways.
