Principal MacInnes — Changes in Leadership

Dr. Themistos announced that he is stepping down as Principal for the next academic year, with Mr. MacInnes taking over the position. The change was announced on Thursday in the Parent Connections newsletter.

Mr. MacInnes came to St. John’s in 2021 from St. Jane de Chantal, a joint elementary and middle school located in Bethesda. Mr. MacInnes taught Algebra I and Algebra II before taking over as Freshman Class Dean in Fall of 2022.

Additional staff changes were also announced. Dean Smith has been promoted to Assistant Principal of Student Safety and Engagement. Mrs. Kathleen O’Connor was promoted to Associate Principal for Academic Affairs. Mrs. Michelle Gould, the former head of counseling, was officially promoted to Assistant Principal of Counseling. Emily Forde, who joined the academic support team last year, was promoted to Assistant Principal of Student Support. Finally, Susie Hinton was promoted to Senior Vice President of Enrollment and Communications.
