Fall Sports Update
The football team is ready to return to championship this fall. After their return from Florida for the national top 20 competition, the Varsity football team is hosting Theodore Roosevelt High School with plans to clutch the victory this Saturday, September 2nd at 2:00pm to start their season strong. The next week, they will be making the four hour drive to Erasmus Hall High School in New York to secure another victory. Sophomore Jordan Harrison said his main goal is to “play together as a team and go for three”.
Men’s Varsity soccer has started their winning streak for the season! The Varsity team had their home scrimmage on August 30th against Parkdale High School. After securing the 2-1 win with a last-minute winning goal, #3 on the team, Zachary Laffey (‘26) said he is ready to “get closer with the teammates and compete for a title” this season. St. John’s soccer will be playing against Maret School at 4:15pm on Tuesday September 5th with plans to dominate. Just a few days later, the team will be playing at St. Albans at 4:30pm and plan to prevail yet again.
Women’s Varsity soccer had their home opener on August 31st. The ladies tied against the Potomac school, showing their skills on the field. Their next game is Wednesday, September 6th at Stone Ridge at 4:15pm. The next week they have two home games on Tuesday and Thursday against Maret and Sidwell, both at 4:00pm.
Women’s Varsity Volleyball is ready to reign triumphant this season. Women’s varsity had their first game at Archbishop Spalding on August 31st and won 3-0. Their home opener is against St. John Paul the Great on Friday, September 8th, at 5:00pm. The following Tuesday, they have yet another home game against Good Counsel at 5:00pm.
Women’s Varsity Tennis has already started their season. The ladies had their home opener against St. John Paul the Great on August 31st. Their next game is Tuesday, September 12th at UDC against Bishop Ireton.
The Field Hockey ladies are ready to compete this season. Their first seasonal game is at Bullis High School on Wednesday, September 6th at 4:15pm. Their home opener is at 4:00pm at Quinn Field against Holy Child.
