Girl scout cookie comparison

You may think that the same Girl Scout cookies you buy in Maryland are the same cookies you can buy in Virginia, however this is not true. There are two different bakeries that supply Girl Scout Cookies: ABC Bakers and Little Brownie Bakers. Little Brownie Bakers (LBB) supplies the cookies we all know and love: Thin Mints, Samoas, Tagalongs, Do-si-dos, etc. ABC Bakers (ABC) supplies the same cookies, but they have slightly different recipes and names. Caramel deLites instead of Samoas, Peanut Butter Patties instead of Tagalongs, and Peanut Butter Sandwiches instead of Do- si-dos.

Thin Mints from LBB have a rich, smooth chocolate coating with a distinct peppermint taste while Thin Mints from ABC are crunchier with more mint than chocolate. Samoas have more caramel, a dark chocolate, and more coconut, while Caramel deLites have more cookie than caramel, the cookie is vanilla flavored, and milk chocolate. Tagalongs have more peanut butter, and Peanut Butter Patties have a vanilla flavor with less peanut butter. Do-si-dos are crunchier and buttery with a strong peanut butter taste while Peanut Butter Sandwiches are crisper and the Peanut Butter taste is rounded out.

Despite their differences, both bakers are licensed cookie bakers for the Girl Scouts. The brand you receive depends upon where your local council decided to order from. Cookie selling season is usually between January and April, and you can buy them from your local Girl Scout Council.
