Is Disney+ worth your time and money?
On November 12, Disney released its new streaming service Disney+. It features Disney Classic movies like The Sound of Music, Aladdin, High School Musical, and so much more. It also features Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars, and National Geographic movies. I’m here to tell you if it this is worth $6.99.
One feature of this provider is throwback movies and classics. It has all the classic Disney princess movies like Princess and the Frog and Cinderella. It also has other classic movies like Home Alone, Dumbo, and Avatar. For millennials and Gen Z kids, Disney+ also has many of the shows and movies from our childhood. It features tv shows like Lizzie McGuire, Wizards of Waverly Place, Kim Possible, and many more. It also has Disney Channel Original movies(DCOMs) like The Cheetah Girls, Lemonade Mouth, and Camp Rock to name a few.
Another feature of Disney+ is its original movies and series. One popular series is Star Wars The Mandalorian. It also has the semi-controversial High School Musical: The Musical: The Series. This show is semi controversial because the kids that grew up with the show feel like no one can replace the original cast, which is true. But the series is actually quite enjoyable and honors the original cast of High School Musical, rather than trying to replace them. The production of the shows is actually very good, which is expected for Disney.
But, even with all these great shows, there are still some of our favorites that are missing. Some shows not on the app are Austin and Ally, Sonny with a Chance, and Ant Farm are a few that didn’t make it. Some movies they are missing include The Incredible Hulk, Up, and Star Wars: The Last Jedi. But the missing movies don’t really take away from all the great movies on the app.
All things considered, I think Disney+ is worth it. Although some shows are not featured, it still has some of the best movies ever made. Getting to have all Star Wars, Avengers, Pixar, other blasts from the past, and so many great movies all in one app is definitely worth the seven dollars every month.
