St. John’s players celebrate with the student section after taking the lead.

Last Thursday, St. John’s boys soccer faced Gonzaga in a rivalry game that ended in an 8 goal thriller. Gonzaga started off hot going up 2-0 early. Shortly before the first half ended Omar Medrano (‘26) had an amazing goal. For a lot of the second half it was 3-1 Gonzaga but then Mateo Cabezas (‘28) scored making it 3-2. Quickly after Leandro Navas (‘26) equalized the score and St. John’s had all the momentum. Mateo Cabezas scored to make it 4-3 and the game ended 4-4 marking a great St. John’s comeback.
