Rank that: Fast and the Furious films
The Fast and the Furious franchise is a long spanning series of 8 films, each emphasizing the value of friends, family, and driving fast cars. This list will tank my favorite movies from least to greatest.
The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift
While Tokyo drift is an enjoyable addition to the world of The Fast and the Furious, it diverges from the original cast of characters with Dom and Brian. It introduces us to Han, an important character who later enters the franchise as Dom Toretto’s family grows.
Fast and Furious
The fourth film in the franchise, not to be confused with The Fast and the Furious, diverts from the original grand theft auto, focusing more on busting drug cartels and solving murder mysteries. It is the first time we see Dom and Brian reunite following the end of the first film in the franchise.
2 Fast 2 Furious
This film introduces audiences to Roman Pierce, a funny and likable character who is the butt of most jokes throughout the series. This buddy cop film pictures Brian and Rome against an Argentinian drug lord in Miami. They work with the police in order to erase their criminal records related to grand theft auto.
The Fast and the Furious
The first film in the franchise introduces us to Brian O’Conner, an undercover police officer, and Dom Toretto, a mechanic involved in drag racing and grand theft auto. After being embedded with the Toretto family for a while, Brian ultimately grows fond of them and must question his loyalty when tensions grow. The film is fun, full of quips and is very enjoyable and a strong opening to the series.
Fate of the Furious
Fate of the Furious served as the first film without Brian O’Conner. It is a fun film that brings the gang back together for another large scale adventure. They are forced to team up with an enemy in order to save Dom from a new threat to his family. The film sees each character pulling off some insane maneuvers in their cars in order to avoid danger and save the day.
Fast and Furious 6
As a new threat emerges, new and old faces must work together to take him down. Even Hobbs joins the team, offering them pardons for their help to take down the mercenary drivers tormenting the world.
Fast Five
This film brings back the original crew and introduces a tough cop named Hobbs who is not afraid to bend the law a bit to bust some crime. Things go sideways when the team has to pull off one more job in Rio De Janeiro to gain their freedom.
Furious 7
Furious 7 serves as a book-end for Brian O’Conner following his tragic real-life death in a car accident. A high-stakes, large-scale chase pits everyone’s favorite family against a new threat following Fast and Furious 6. This is hands down the greatest film in the series, filled with family values, thrilling action sequences, and some fast cars.
