SJC dismantles Gonzaga to move to WCAC final
During a prime fall day, St. John’s Football was in their prime as well. Before the game, the Cadets did their impressive annual march on the field. With high energy, the student section showed their support in an electric sea of red. Following quarter 1, the Cadets threw a 17 yard touchdown pass to DJ Linkins for St. John’s to go up 14-0. In the third quarter a huge interception from Robert Stewart led to a 60 yard run to secure the 21-0 lead. St. John’s scored a touchdown in each quarter, leaving Gonzaga blown out in a 28-0 win for the Cadets and knocked Gonzaga out of the playoffs. With 18 carries, 125 rushing yards, and a touchdown, Jamar Curtis helped lead the Cadets to victory. Completing almost 200 passing yards from quarterback Wyatt Hagan, St. John’s dominated the field. St. John’s Football is now ranked 23rd in the nation according to Max Preps, and this win sends them to the WCAC finals against Good Counsel on the 21st.
