Spanish Club hosts Hispanic food taste testing
On the first of December, the Spanish Club, partnered with the Latino Student Union and the Latin Dance club, to celebrate Christmas by hosting a food tasting. Heidy Martinez, a senior, said “I really like how the Spanish Club embraces not only the Christmas spirit but also the Hispanic culture within the Christmas season. Loving the representation!” They had a series of festive foods such as arroz con leche, Panettone, and many more, so students could have a taste of the Hispanic Christmas traditions. While snacking on food, Chelsea Orellana Bonilla, gave a presentation on how different countries such as Columbia, Mexico, and Peru, celebrate the Christmas season. Another senior, Jessica Sanchez said “I had a really great time. As a Hispanic this club really represents our different cultures and I appreciate it.”
