Alpine Skiing

Lindsey Vonn: Lindsey Vonn has won a total of three Olympic medals in her career: one gold in the 2010 downhill and a bronze in super-G at both the 2010 and 2018 Olympics. Lindsey Vonn retired in 2019 due to injuries but has recently made a major comeback, allowing her to qualify for the Winter Games. Women's downhill is Feb. 8.

Mikaela Shiffrin: Mikaela Shiffrin is the most decorated alpine skier ever, with more than 100 World Cup wins. Mikaela won a gold medal in slalom in 2014 and in giant slalom in 2018, along with a silver in alpine combined in 2018. The women's GS is scheduled for Feb. 15 and slalom for Feb. 18.

Ryan Cochran-Siegle: In the 2022 Olympics, Ryan Cochran-Siegle won a silver medal in super-G. He was only 0.04 seconds behind winning gold. This was the first U.S. men's alpine medal since 2014. It was also a special moment, as his mother, Barbara Ann Cochran, won gold in slalom 50 years earlier in 1972. Men's super-G will take place Feb. 11.

Cross-Country Skiing

Jessie Diggins: Jessie Diggins is the most decorated American cross-country skier. She has won three Olympic medals — a gold, silver and bronze — including the first U.S. cross-country Olympic gold in 2018. Jessie Diggins has announced that she will be retiring after the 2025-2026 season, making the 2026 Olympics her fourth and final Olympic appearance. Cross-country skiing competition will start Feb. 7.

Gus Schumacher: Gus Schumacher is said to be the best chance for the U.S. men to end the team's 50-year medal drought. In 2022, his team placed ninth in the 4x10-kilometer relay. Recently, in February 2025, he became the first American man to reach the World Cup podium in a 20-kilometer freestyle race. Men's events are also scheduled to start Feb. 8.

Freestyle Skiing

Alex Ferreira: Alex Ferreira is a dominant American freestyle skier who specializes in halfpipe. He was a silver medalist at the 2018 Olympics and a bronze medalist in 2022. In the 2023-2024 season, Ferreira had a "perfect season" in which he won all seven events that he entered. He is the only halfpipe skier ever to complete that achievement. The freestyle halfpipe events begin Feb. 19.

Jaelin Kauf: Jaelin Kauf is an American freestyle skier who is widely recognized as the fastest woman on the moguls World Cup circuit. Her mother, Patti Sherman-Kauf, and her father, Scott Kauf, were both professional mogul skiers. She placed seventh in the 2018 Olympics and won a silver medal in the 2022 Olympics. Kauf has an opportunity to win two Olympic gold medals this winter due to the addition of dual moguls as one of the events. Women's moguls begin Feb. 10.

Biathlon

Campbell Wright: Campbell Wright is a dual-citizen U.S./New Zealand biathlete. In 2025, he won two silver medals at the 2025 world championships, becoming the first American to achieve this feat in one event. He formerly represented New Zealand at the 2022 Beijing Olympics when he competed at only 19 years old. He switched to Team USA in 2023 and is best known for his precise shooting. Competition begins Feb. 8.

Deedra Irwin: Deedra Irwin is an American biathlete who started out as a runner. Deedra Irwin had always been an avid runner; she started cross-country skiing in high school to stay in shape for running during the offseason. She did not start biathlon until she was 25 in 2017. At the 2022 Winter Olympics, she placed seventh in the 15-kilometer race, which is the best individual finish for a U.S. biathlete. Women's biathlon begins Feb. 11.

Snowboarding

Chloe Kim: Chloe Kim is a legendary American snowboarder who won her first Olympic medal when she was only 17. She has been on Team USA since she was 14 years old. She is a two-time Olympic gold medalist (2018 and 2022) in the halfpipe and is the first woman to win back-to-back Olympic gold medals in the halfpipe event. The women's halfpipe competition is Feb. 11-12.

Red Gerard: Red Gerard is a professional snowboarder who secured a surprise gold medal in slopestyle at the 2018 Olympics when he was only 17 years old. When he entered the final run of the slopestyle event in 2018, he was in 11th place, but after an amazing run, he cemented his first Olympic title. He also competes in big air, in which he got fifth place in both the 2018 and 2022 Olympics. The men's slopestyle competition begins Feb. 16.

Figure Skating

Madison Chock and Evan Bates: Madison Chock and Evan Bates are five-time defending U.S. champions and have won the last three world championships in figure skating. Though they have not yet won a title in ice dance — receiving fourth place at the 2022 Olympics — they helped Team USA secure the team gold. Ice dance starts Feb. 9.

Alysa Liu: Alysa Liu is an American figure skater known for becoming the youngest U.S. women's champion in 2019 at 13 years old. She is also a record-breaking jumper. She was the first American woman to land a quadruple jump and the first female skater to land a quadruple jump and a triple axel in the same program. Alysa Liu will compete Feb. 17 and 19.

Speed Skating

Erin Jackson: Erin Jackson is an American speed skater looking to defend her Olympic title in the upcoming Olympics. She won a gold medal in the 500-meter race at the 2022 Olympics, becoming the first Black woman to earn Olympic gold in speed skating. The women's 500 meters is Feb. 15.

Jordan Stolz: Jordan Stolz is the gold-medal favorite for the 500-, 1,000- and 1,500-meter events for 2026. Stolz made his Olympic debut in 2022, where he placed 13th in the 500 meters and 14th in the 1,000 meters. Now he is the top speed skater in the world, winning the 500-, 1,000- and 1,500-meter World Cup titles. The men's speed-skating events began Feb. 8.

Bobsled, Luge and Skeleton

Emily Fischnaller: Emily Fischnaller is an American luger. She is a two-time Olympian who has shown resilience after she overcame a terrible crash in the 2018 Olympics that resulted in broken neck and back vertebrae. Women's luge events begin Feb. 9.

Elana Meyers Taylor: Elana Meyers Taylor is one of the most successful Winter Olympians in history, with a total of five Olympic medals in bobsled. She is the most decorated Black athlete in Winter Olympics history and a 55-time world medalist. Women's bobsled events begin Feb. 15.

Mystique Ro: In 2025, Mystique Ro became the first female American in 12 years to win a medal at the world championships in skeleton. She won the junior world championships in 2013 and has earned bronze medals in both the 2019 and 2025 world championships. The women's competition begins Feb. 13.
