Three seniors selected as Under Armour All-Americans
Senior football players Tre’Mon Morris-Brash, Quinten Johnson, and Keilan Robinson have been selected to play in the Under Armour All-America game this January, which will bring together the nation’s top 100 players in the high school class of 2018.
On Nov. 28, they were recognized by their friends, family, and the SJC community as part of the American Family Insurance Selection Tour, during which they received their official jerseys. For Morris-Brash, this recognition was something he’s only dreamed of. “It doesn’t seem real until you actually get there and experience it.”
To Morris-Brash, a four-star defensive end, this is just the beginning. He plans on taking full advantage of the opportunity. “If I do what’s needed of me in the All-America Game, I can open new doors for myself,” he said. Morris-Brash said he is ready to work hard, and he’s looking forward to “meeting new lifelong friends” and developing his skills along the way.
Safety Johnson, who is also ranked by ESPN as a four-star player, feels the same way. He is ecstatic to have received this tremendous honor and is “looking forward to competing with the best of the best.” And as for his goal? “My goal is simply success. I don’t have a set path I need to follow,” Johnson said. He knows he has a lot of work ahead of him, and he said he is letting his passion and drive lead him.
Four-star running back Robinson is also thankful to be recognized for this opportunity. He said he’s happy to have been invited to play.
What Morris-Brash and Johnson can definitely agree on is that they wouldn’t have reached this point without such supportive communities. Johnson said that the community around him has “shown a lot of support.” He was especially thankful to get to see so many people who have supported him “since day one” at the Selection Tour. Morris-Brash is also filled with gratitude: “I am thankful to God for giving me this opportunity, and I’m inspired by my family and the people around me.” They’ve motivated him to keep playing since he was five.
Morris-Brash credits SJC with giving him a constant source of encouragement and said that he knows he wouldn’t be in his position today without the SJC football program and community. “SJC has supported me since eighth grade and has continued to support me ever since. Through the good times and the bad, SJC has always made me feel like family,” he said.
